Lavan Island is situated 18 kilometers south of the coastal line of the Persian Gulf, approximately 75.6 kilometers squared. Some 25 kilometers length and 5 kilometers width. The oil exploration in this area commenced upon activities of LAPCO in the Persian Gulf and in 1967 first oil production from Salman reached Lavan Island.
Lavan Coral Island
Lavan coral island, according to geology, is formed from sediments of the New Era (The Fourth Era).
The island is 25 kilometers in length and about 5 kilometers in width. The island is one of the suburbs of Bandar Lengeh in Hormozgan Province. This island is located at 26˚ 50’ N and 53˚ 9’ E.

Lavan Oilfields :
Salman Field :
This field is located 144 kilometers south of Lavan. Salman Field has one of the largest offshore installations in the Persian Gulf and it is a common field with ABK of Abudhabi.
Salman Field has near 50 oil wells and 10 water injector, the Process capacity is 220,000 barrels of oil, transferred to Lavan Island by a 22-inch offshore pipeline.
During the Imposed War, Salman Platform frequently attacked by Iraqi's warplanes and totally devastated by the U.S.Marine Corpse.
After the war, as first priority for reconstruction, the field came back to full production at the soonest.
Resalat Field :
This field is located 93 kilometers south of Lavan Island. It has 14 wells.
Resalat Field had been under Iraqi's bombardment during the Imposed War and was damaged considerably. One of our main projects is reconstruction and putting back to full production of this field.
Reshadat Field :
This field is located about 110 kilometers, southwest of Lavan Island.
Reshadat-7 of was frequently attacked by Iraqi forces and finally devastated by the U.S.Marine corpse.
Reshadat-4 of is located 4 kilometers to the north of Reshadat 7 Platform. It has 14 wells with a production of 8,000 barrels of oil per day before reconstruction work of the field.
The oil of this field together with the oil of Resalat Field is transferred to Lavan by an 18-inch pipeline.
Reshadat-3 of serves temporarily as flare.
Lavan Gas Field :
Deepening the well drilled in 1960s and also drilling a new well proved the existence of a gas field under Lavan Island with an estimated reserve of 6 TCF (Trillion Cubic Feet) of natural gas. Drilling of more wells is in progress.
Balal Oilfield :
This field is located 93 kilometers, southwest of Lavan Island. The implementation of the project was carried out in the form of buyback contract in the second half of 2002. The oil production of 40,000 barrels per day started from this field and transferred to Lavan Island by a 14-inch offshore pipeline.
Major Projects Undertaken at Lavan Island
Further Development of Salman Oil and development of Gas project through a buyback contract for 500 million cubic feet of gas export from this field. Reshadat Field Development and Reconstruction project is underway to achieve 75000 barrels of oil per day
Development Project of Resalat Field to produce 46,000 barrels of oil per day is in progress
Industrial and non-industrial wate water treatment plants
